A bright modern workplace

Why Careerbase

Modern Career Transition

Careerbase was built on a simple observation: the way most organisations support people through career change was designed for a world of linear careers and rationed coaching hours. Better outcomes will be achieved for the individuals and organisations using technology, human support and agency.

What changed

The Job Market and Career Management has been upended. Old tools and programs no longer work.

Careers aren't linear any more

People move sideways, across industries and into roles that didn't exist a decade ago. Support built around one obvious next step doesn't help them.

Support was rationed, not designed

A set number of coaching hours decided how much help someone received, rather than what they actually needed.

Everyone got the same process

A frontline role, a specialist and an executive were often run through broadly the same program with the same materials.

Resources sat unused

Generic libraries and PDF templates rarely survive contact with a real job search.

A different approach

Careerbase starts with the person, not the program.

Every person gets technology that understands their career, practical tools available whenever they need them, and human expertise where judgement, challenge and connection genuinely add value.

Career Twin

A living picture of the person.

  • 01Experience
  • 02Skills
  • 03Evidence
  • 04Preferences
  • 05Target roles
  • 06Direction

Everything else in Careerbase reads from this same understanding.

The difference

Six things we do differently.

01

It understands the person first

Careerbase builds a living picture of someone's experience, skills, evidence and direction before it suggests anything.

02

Support is available whenever it's needed

Practical tools for role fit, CVs, applications, interviews and planning are there at 6am on a Sunday, not only in a booked session.

03

Humans are used where they're worth it

Coaches and specialists bring judgement, challenge and expertise, with the context already in place.

04

Development is connected to a goal

Learning is attached to a gap the person is genuinely trying to close, not chosen from a catalogue.

05

Built for the Australian market

Guidance, process resources and language written for Australian employers and employees.

06

Privacy is part of the design

Employers see the program. People keep their private career work to themselves.

Personalised by technology. Human by design.

Smart technology. Real human support.

Technology is how we make good support available to every person in a program. People are how we make it count. Neither replaces the other.

What the technology does

Always there, always in context

  • Understands each person's experience, skills and direction
  • Makes practical career tools available at any hour
  • Keeps everything consistent, from CV to interview to plan
  • Extends real support to everyone in a program, not just a few

What people do

Judgement, challenge and connection

  • Help someone decide, not just consider
  • Give honest feedback and hold them accountable
  • Bring lived expertise in a role, sector or situation
  • Offer the human reassurance no software can

How it works

Simple to run. Different for every person.

Five steps from setting up a program to reporting on it, with the personalisation happening in between.

  1. 01

    Set up the program

You choose the right level of support and invite the employee. It takes minutes, and you don't have to wait on an account manager.

  2. 02

Careerbase gets to know the person

Their Career Twin builds an understanding of experience, capabilities, evidence and where they want to go.

  3. 03

    Every journey becomes different

From there, Careerbase surfaces the tools, opportunities, preparation, coaching and development that suit that person's actual situation.

  4. 04

People step in where they add value

Career coaches and specialists bring judgement, challenge and expertise, and they start every conversation with real context.

  5. 05

You see the program, not the person's private career

You get the program and service level visibility you need to run and report on the investment. Their private career work stays theirs.

Trust by design

Visibility, without compromising employee privacy.

People are honest with a career service they trust. That's why the employer view and the personal view are deliberately separate.

What the employer can see

  • Which programs are running and at what level
  • Who has been invited and who has activated
  • Service and support usage across the program
  • Aggregate participation and transition reporting

What stays private to the person

  • Career Twin evidence and assessment results
  • Target roles, applications and job search activity
  • CV content and application drafts
  • Interview practice and answers
  • Coaching conversations and coach notes
  • Personal career intentions

Private career activity is only ever shared where the person has explicitly agreed to share it.
